243 Out of 801 Candidates Secured Seats, Joining Deadline is Nov 20
As part of the counselling process being conducted for admission to medical and dental undergraduate courses in Rajasthan, the Medical-Dental Counselling Board, Jaipur, have released the results of the stray-vacancy round. A total of 243 candidates were successful in the seat allocation list released in this round.
The number of vacancies available for this round was 248 seats, including 137 MBBS and 211 BDS seats. The Board completed the allocation of these seats, providing a final opportunity to the remaining candidates.
A detailed study by an educational expert revealed the rank up to which seats were allocated in various categories in the stray-vacancy round. The last government MBBS seat in the OBC category was allotted to a student with an All India Rank of 27,583.
The student with this rank secured admission to Government Medical College, Karauli. The last government MBBS seat in the EWS category was allotted to a candidate with an All India Rank of 30,844 at Government Medical College, Pali.
The last seat in the entire list went to a candidate with an All India Rank of 13,01,009, who was offered an MBBS seat under the management quota at a private medical college in Udaipur. This clearly shows that even in the stray-vacancy round, many candidates received more favourable results than expected.
According to the analysis, only 3 government MBBS seats and 1 NRI seat remained in the vacant seat matrix for the stray-vacancy round. Given the possibility of these seats being converted to the general category, candidates with ranks between 27,000 and 30,000 participated in this round with particular eagerness. For candidates who were allotted government seats, this result was a source of immense relief and satisfaction.
The Counselling Board has clarified that candidates who received a seat in the stray-vacancy round are required to report to the respective medical institution by November 20 and complete the admission formalities.
If a candidate does not join the allotted seat, they will be required to deposit the full tuition fee or 10 lakh rupees, whichever is higher, to the institution as per the prescribed bond conditions.
