IIT Madras Releases JEE Advanced 2024 Final Report
The organizing institute of JEE Advanced 2024, IIT Madras, has released a detailed, 1199-page report regarding the examination and results through the Joint Implementation Committee. According to the report, Rajasthan has emerged once again as the state providing the highest number of admissions to IITs.
The report reveals that all states across India were divided into 7 IIT zones. A total of 17,965 students were allotted seats in IITs from these zones. Among them, 4,152 students from the IIT Delhi zone have been admitted to IITs this year.
Rajasthan is the largest state in the IIT Delhi zone, which also includes Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. As a result, Rajasthan is the state with the highest number of students selected for IIT. Most of these students from Rajasthan have secured admission to IITs through Career Kota.

An education expert at ALLEN Career Institute stated that as per the report issued by IIT Madras, a total of 2,50,284 students qualified for the JEE Advanced exam this year. Out of these, 1,80,200 students appeared for the exam, and 48,284 were declared eligible for counseling.
These students filled 32,73,159 choices for IIT admissions. The most popular choice was Computer Science at IIT Bombay, with 25,481 preferences, while the least popular was BS Economics with MBA at IIT Patna, with only 3,978 choices.

A total 17,395 students selected for IITs, the highest number came from the IIT Delhi zone (4,152), followed by IIT Madras zone (4,072), IIT Bombay zone (3,712), IIT Roorkee zone (1,700), IIT Kanpur zone (1,669), IIT Bhubaneswar zone (1,604), and the lowest, from the IIT Guwahati zone (786 students).

According to an education expert from ALLEN, A total of 3,945 female students qualified for JEE Advanced this year and secured admission to IITs. Out of these, 3,480 students took admission through the female pool, including supernumerary seats, while 15 students entered through the gender-neutral pool.
Additionally, 14,200 male students entered through the gender-neutral pool. Out of the total 17,695 IIT seats, 17,605 seats were allocated to Indian students, 88 seats to OCI and PIO candidates, and only 2 seats were given to foreign nationals. The allocated seats for IITs included 6,982 seats for the General category, 1,926 for General EWS, 4,775 for OBC, 2,654 for SC, and 1,338 for ST candidates.
