The interest of students in medical profession is growing. This time a record 7 new colleges have started in Rajasthan. 5 of these are in government and 2 in private sector. 700 seats increased in these 7 medical colleges.

In this, not only the seats in government are filled, but the seats in private colleges, with fees up to Rs. 1.25 Crore, are also filled. There is no seat left in Sudha Medical College started recently in Kota. This time admissions were given on more than 6 thousand seats in the state.

Reasons for Increasing Demand of Doctors

  • Demand and population--According to WHO, one doctor is necessary for a population of one thousand, but the availability of doctors is less in the country. In such a situation, the demand of doctors is more.
  • 95% become doctors: More than 60% of engineering students change their profession and go to other streams (More than 95% become doctors in medical).
  • Opportunity to learn: Due to the large population, doctors get a chance to learn. They keep learning throughout their life.
  • Profession is safe: More than 20 lakh students appear in medical entrance exam. There are around 1 lakh 10 thousand seats in it. Government has only around 55 thousand. Students consider the profession of doctors as the most respectable profession. Profession is also safe. There are opportunities for students in private and government. Most people choose this profession for service also.

This year, government colleges started in Baran, Sawai Madhopur, Jhunjhunu, Banswara and Nagaur and private colleges in Jodhpur and Kota. The seats of these colleges have got filled. In Sudha Medical College, admissions were done on 100 seats first.

Now there are 252 seats. Out of these, 96 are government and 75 are private, 79 are Management and 2 are NRI. Here, the number of government medical colleges in the state has become 30 which also includes ESIC College of Alwar. Geetanjali also has government quota seats.
