There are 170 seats of Computer Science in IIT Bombay on Which Admission is Available
If you are preparing for engineering and dreaming of JEE Advanced 2025, then this news is very useful for you. IIT Bombay, one of the most prestigious institutes in the country, has released its seat matrix. This time there will be admission in undergraduate courses on a total of 1204 seats.
Most Seats for B.Tech
IIT Bombay offers three major undergraduate programs –
- B.Tech
- B.S. (Bachelor of Science)
- Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech)
Of these, B.Tech courses is in the highest demand, and keeping this in mind, 1006 seats have been given in this course. 118 seats have been fixed for BS course and 80 seats for dual degree. That is, a total of 1204 students will get a chance to get admission in IIT Bombay.
Seat Matrix
There are 1006 B.Tech. seats in IIT Bombay which 66 seats of aeronautical engineering, 113 seats of chemical engineering, 130 seats of civil engineering, 170 seats of computer science and engineering, 102 seats of metallurgical engineering and material science, 36 seats of industrial engineering and operational research, 90 seats of electrical engineering, 41 seats of energy science and engineering, 52 seats of engineering physics, 169 seats of mechanical engineering and 37 seats of environmental science and engineering.

If you are at the top of the rank list of JEE Advanced and are dreaming of taking Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), then note – there are only 170 seats in this branch. This is the reason why every year there is a fierce competition among the smartest students of the country for this branch.

Maths and Economics – Smart Options of the New Age

JoSAA Counseling from June 3
The JEE Advanced 2025 exam has been completed and now all eyes are on JoSAA Counseling. It is expected that the JoSAA process can start from 3rd June. Through this counseling, admission will be given to around 18,000 seats in 23 IITs across the country.
At present, the seat matrix has not been released on the official website of JoSAA, but full details are available on the website of IIT Bombay.
If you dream of IIT Bombay, then keep in mind not only the rank but also the course and career direction. Computer Science is a great option, but if you do not get a place in it, then options like Maths, Economics or Dual Degree can also open the doors to a great future.
