Success in JEE Advanced is Achieved Even with Less Marks Than the Passing Marks

Those Who have Scored 15.28 to 30.34 Percent Marks in JEE Advanced were also Considered Successful

The country’s most prestigious engineering entrance exam Joint Entrance Exam Advanced (JEE ADVANCED) will be held on May 18. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is conducting the exam this time.

Top 2.5 lakh successful aspirants of JEE Main 2025 have qualified for JEE Advanced 2025. Online application for JEE Advanced 2025 has concluded on 2 May. The most special thing about this exam is that it is considered a very difficult exam, but this success is achieved even with less passing marks.

In the reserve category, this percentage goes even lower. While the average passing marks in exams are considered to be 33 percent, but in JEE Advanced it is 15.28 to 30.34. Whereas in the reserve category it is even 8 percent. In the year 2019, a person with 93 marks was considered successful, after which 69 in 2020, 63 in 2021, 55 in 2022, 86 in 2023 and 109 in 2024 were considered successful.

Candidates of general and all other categories got these marks. They were qualified through Common Rank List (CRL). After this, candidates of the respective category have also qualified through category qualifying marks.

Declared Successful Even on 55 Marks i.e. 15.28 Percent Marks

If we look at the statistics of the last 6 years of this entrance exam, then candidates scoring from 55 to 109 marks have also been successful in it. However, the total marks were different in the meantime. In such a situation, if we talk about percentage, then candidates scoring between 15.28 to 30.34 percent have also been successful.

That is, a candidate who scored just 15.28 percent i.e. 55 marks has also been considered successful for the JoSAA counselling. According to this, candidates can also plan to make a good rank for themselves.

The Highest Percentage was in the Year 2024

In the year 2024, 48248 candidates were declared qualified for JoSAA counseling. Out of these, 25946 candidates qualified through CRL. This percentage was 30.34, candidates who got 109 marks out of 360 were declared qualified through CRL Whereas there were 98 marks in EWS and OBC category, 54 marks in SC, ST and PWD category. 22302 candidates were selected through these.

Up to 72 Percent Candidates Came from CRL

In the year 2024, out of 48248 candidates, 53.77 percent candidates were selected through CRL. This is the lowest in the last 6 years. Because in 6 years, 60 to 72 percent candidates were selected from CRL. Whereas in the year 2024, 46 percent candidates came from the reserved category this year.

Whereas in the remaining years this percentage has been between 28 to 40. In this, it has been around 28 percent in the years 2021 and 2022.

JEE Advanced 2025

JEE Advanced 2025 examination will be held on 18 May 2025. JEE Advanced examination is held, after the JEE Main examination, for admission to IIT institutes of the country. JEE Main is also a screening examination to filter top 2.50 lakh aspirants for taking JEE Advanced examination.
