The application process of JEE-Main 2021, the country’s largest engineering entrance exam, is going on. The last date of application for this examination, which is going to be held in February, March, April, and May this year, is today– January 16 (Saturday). So far, more than 8 lakh students have applied for JEE Main 2021. It is anticipated that more than 9 lakh students will be applying for the February exam.
The correction of the application form facility will begin between 19 and 21 January 2021 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main 2021 Correction window will be the one-time opportunity to edit the application form. There will be an option for one time correction of personal particulars of candidates.
Career Counselling Expert, Amit Ahuja of Allen Career Institute said that till now, the board eligibility for admission to NITs, IIIT remains 75 percent and top 20 percentile according to category. Students must apply for the JEE-Main examination even if they do not fulfil the board eligibility because the top 2.5 lakh students, including all categories, will be eligible to give JEE-Advanced based on JEE-Main. Many good engineering institutes also take admission based on JEE Main, whose board eligibility is 60 percent or less.
NTA released a public notice on Friday, through which it asked students to be aware of the fake websites. The notice asked students to be careful while they fill their JEE Main Application. A link to a fake website was also provided in the notice.
Career Counselling Expert Amit Ahuja states that category students who do not have the documents related to their category should not miss the application. Such students can download the Undertaking from the FAQ given on the website and upload it in place of the category certificate. Following this process will provide them with time to submit the category documents till May 2021.
