JEE Main 2024 Session 1 (February) Paper Analysis by ALLEN Experts

JEE Main 2024 Session 1 (January Session) Has Conclude

The fifth and last day of JEE Main 2024 January Session was held on Thursday. The examination was conducted on computer based mode. The results of JEE Main 2024 Session 1 will be released by the National Testing Agency on February 12. Whereas the examination of the JEE Main 2024 session 2 will be held in the month of April.

Maths

According to the feedback received from the students, the Maths paper in the morning shift was of moderate level. The calculations were quite lengthy. In Algebra, one question was asked from Sequence and Series, two from Complex Numbers, one from Binomial Theorem, one from Probability, one from P&C, one from Determinant and Matrix.

Whereas one question was asked from Calculus, two from Limit and Continuity, two from Differential Equations, one from Area Under Curve and two from Definite Integration. A question came from Application of Derivatives. Whereas three questions were asked from vector and 3D. In Coordinate Geometry, one question was asked from straight line, one from circle, one from conic section, one each from relation and statistics and in trigonometry one question was asked from compound angle.

In the evening shift, the Maths paper was of moderate level and the calculations were also quite lengthy. In Algebra, two questions were asked from Sequence and Series, one from Complex Number, one from Binomial Theorem, one from Probability, one from P&C, one each from Determinant and Matrix.

In Calculus, there were three questions: one from Function, one from Continuity and Differentiability, one from Differential Equations, one from Area Under Curve and one from Definite Integration. Four questions were asked from vector 3d. In Coordinate Geometry, one question was asked from circle and also from conic section. One question each came from Relation and Statistics. Similarly, a question was asked from trigonometry equation.

Chemistry

The Chemistry paper in the morning shift was of moderate level. Most of the questions in the paper were informative. In Inorganic Chemistry, one question each came from Periodic Properties, Chemical Bonding, Coordination Chemistry, Salt Analysis whereas two questions came from P block. In Organic Chemistry, one question was asked from Isomerism, Reduction, Biomolecules, GOC, Halogen Derivatives and two from Aromatic Chemistry.

Similarly, in Physical Chemistry, questions came on mole concept, redox balancing, Van’t Hoff factor, carbon dating, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, ionic equilibrium, electrochemistry. Most of the questions in Physical Chemistry were in numerical part.

The Chemistry paper in the evening shift was of moderate level and was difficult as compared to the morning shift. In Inorganic Chemistry, one question each came from Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding, Coordination Chemistry, D Block and Salt Analysis and two questions from P Block. In Organic Chemistry, one question was asked from GOC, Isomerism, Biomolecule, POC and two questions were asked from Aromatic Compound. In Physical Chemistry, one question was asked from mass concept, liquid solution, chemical kinetics, electrochemistry and two questions from thermodynamics.

Physics

The level of paper was easy in the morning shift. Questions came from topics of U&D, NLM, Kinematics 1d and 2d, Circular, Rotation Elasticity, KTG, Thermo Gravitation, Sound from class 11th syllabus. Whereas two questions were asked from COM Momentum and Error and Measurement. From Class 12th syllabus, one question each came from Geometrical Optics, Electrostatics, Capacitance, MEC, EMI, AC, EM Wave, Wave Optics and Semi Conductor. Questions related to displacement current, and diffraction were also asked. Two questions came from Current Elasticity while three questions came from Modern Physics. Questions also came on Broglie wavelength and spectral line.

The level of paper in the evening shift was easy to moderate. One question each from Vector, NLM, Kinematics 1d, 2d, WPE, Rotation, Elasticity, Heat Transition, KTG, Thermo, Fluid, SHM, Gravitation and Error Instrument came from the 11th class syllabus. From the Class 12 syllabus, two questions were asked from Electrostatics, two from Capacitance, three from Current Electricity, one from EM Wave and two from Wave Optics. In the morning session, two to three questions came from Semiconductor in Modern Physics. Questions from semiconductor were based on logic gate, questions from electricity were based on meter bridge, ammeter. Radiation based question were asked from heat transfer.
