JEE Main 2024 Session 1 (29 January) Exam – ALLEN Paper Analysis

Overall JEE Main Paper Was Easy on Second Day

The second day of JEE Main-January 2024, session 1 of the country’s biggest engineering entrance examination for admission to BE-B.Tech course, was held on Monday. The examination was conducted on computer-based mode. Based on the feedback of students and the feedback received on ALLEN Digital, the paper was based on NCERT syllabus. The second day’s paper was overall easy.

Maths

The Maths paper in the morning shift on Monday was of moderate level. The calculations in the paper were quite lengthy. One from Sequence and Progression, one from Trigonometry, one from Basic Geometry of Angle Bisector, one from Ellipse, one from Relations, one from P&C, one from Probability, one from Binomial Theorem, two from Functions, one from Methods of Difference.

Two questions were asked from Maxima-Minima, two from Basic Indefinite Integration, two from Definite Integration, one each from Area, Matrix, Vector, 3D Geometry, two from Complex Numbers and one from Statistics. The Maths paper in the evening shift was of moderate level.

The calculations in the paper were quite lengthy. One from Sequence and Progression, one from Trigonometry, one from Straight Line, one from Parabola, one from Relations, one from Binomial Theorem, one from Probability, one from Binomial Determinant, one from Inverse Trigonometry Functions, one from Limits, Maxima-Minima. Two questions were asked from Basic Indefinite Integration, one from Definite Integration, one from Area, one from Matrix, one each from Vector, 3D Geometry, two from Complex Numbers and one from Statistics.

Chemistry

In the morning shift, the paper was of medium level which could be completed in 30-40 minutes. Single option, statement factor, and numerical type questions were asked in the paper. In Numerical, questions were asked from all three parts of Chemistry. In Inorganic, there were questions related to quantum number, periodic table, chemical bonding, metal carbonyl, heating effect, catalyst.

In organic chemistry, questions were asked from GOC, POC, halogen derivatives, alcohol-ether, alkene, WKR and aromatic amine and biomolecule. Whereas in Physical Chemistry, questions related to concentration, atomic structure, redox, liquid solution, chemical kinetics were asked. Calculation in numerical was easy.

Chemistry paper was easy in the evening shift which could be easily completed in about 30-35 minutes. Most of the questions in the paper were informative. In Inorganic Chemistry, there were questions on AR of Periodic Properties, Molecular Orbital Theory, Para and Diamagnetic Properties, Salt Analysis and D and F Block.

In Organic Chemistry, questions were related to nomenclature, pKa values, POC, halogen derivatives, alcohol ethers, reduction aromatic compounds and carbohydrates. In Physical Chemistry, easy questions came on molarity, molality relation, equilibrium constant, half-life of first order reaction, thermochemistry, Faraday’s law and number of molecules of ideal gas. Overall the evening paper was easier than the morning shift.

Physics

According to the feedback received from the students, the morning shift paper was easy. In the paper, questions from Mechanics and Heat and Thermodynamics were asked from class 11th syllabus. Questions related to centripetal acceleration from circular motion, work done against friction, and potential energy from work power energy were asked. Rolling-based questions were asked. Two questions came from Fluid Mechanics, One of which was statement-based.

The question of work done PV diagram came from thermodynamics. Whereas one question each was asked from SHM and gravity. Similarly, from the Class 12 syllabus, there were two questions from Geometrical Optics and two from EM Wave and Wave Optics. One question each came from capacitance and EMI. Three-four questions were asked from Modern Physics. Questions were based on de Broglie wavelength and Q value. One question each came from error and semi-conductor.

According to the feedback received from the students, the Physics paper of the evening shift was easy. Questions came from Mechanics and Heat and Thermodynamics from class 11th syllabus. One question came from Rotation, one from Kinematics 1D, one question each from Fluid and SHM. Two-three questions each were asked from circular motion and elasticity. Kepler’s Third Law based question came from Gravitation.

Similarly, one question each from Electrostatics, Capacitance, and Current Electricity was asked from Class 12th syllabus. Questions related to flux and circuit also came in the paper. A question came from MEC on magnetic force. Question came on E and B relation from EM wave. One question was asked from Modern Physics, one from Errors and one from Semiconductor. The question was based on logic gate and truth table.
