Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached
After taking coaching from Allen for AIPMT, Aditya grabbed AIR-8 in the AIPMT 2012. Aditya Mehta is currently a first-year Internal Medicine Resident at Western Michigan University, U.S.A. The 25-year-old doctor received his MBBS degree from one of the Ivy League medical colleges of India – M.A.M.C.
Coming from a business family of opticians in Sun City, Jodhpur, Aditya was never interested in the family business and wanted to carve his niche in the medical field. His father and uncles run optical shops in Jodhpur as Mehta Opticians and Mehta Opticals while his mother is a housemaker.
Family motivated to become a doctor
He says “Growing up in a family that has always been doing business, my grandfather and all the family members wanted me to be a doctor and serve the city in the future. Seeing the life, my family physician was living; the amount of respect and love he receives from his patients, a career in medicine looked more promising and rewarding”. Talking of the support and motivation of his family members he says, “Each and every member of my family and my friends motivate me even today. My grandfather, my brothers, and uncles everyone help me in one or the other way. During college life, friends helped a lot. They are like a family now to me”. Inspired by the family physician, Aditya’s journey of becoming a doctor started so that he can serve the city in the future.
Perseverance leads to success
He believes that once you are determined enough that you can do it; motivation comes to you naturally in different forms. At ALLEN, he mentioned that each and every open session has inspired him and given him the strength to keep moving forward. Those motivational speeches by Rajesh Maheshwari Sir always remained special to his heart. The way he used to say “Karna hai to Karna hai”, the word always had a deep impact on his mind and he was sure that under the guidance of legendary teachers one is being “nurtured” the best at ALLEN. He adds that it’s always such a friendly environment there that you never feel you are in the wrong place.
