After NTA Switched Back to its Previous Pattern of Matching Recorded Response with Answer Key on 6 February, Aspirants Complained
The answer key, recorded responses, and question paper of JEE Main 2024 Session-1 were released again late on 7 February, Wednesday late night by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA had removed the answer key, recorded responses, and question paper of JEE-Main Session-1 earlier in the afternoon on 7 February (Wednesday) after aspirants were miffed over the change in the pattern of matching answer key with recorded responses.

After the problems and protests of the students with the change in matching pattern, the old pattern of mixing answer key and recorded responses has now been restored. Now students can match the recorded responses and answer keys as per the old pattern of NTA. Along with this, the last date for challenging the provisional answer key has been extended to 9th February.
In this regard, a notification was issued by NTA to challenge the first provisional answer key. After this, the answer key, recorded responses and question papers were released again at around 2 am on late Wednesday (7 February) night due to which the students got some relief.

Aspirants Were Earlier Miffed
It is noteworthy that NTA had changed the pattern of matching of answer key and recorded response on 6 February. As per which, the provisional answer key released by NTA was not shown in the option ID, whereas in the recorded response, the answers of the students were shown in the option ID.
In the Provisional Answer Key, multiple correct questions are shown in the order of 1, 2, 3, 4, whereas in the Recorded Response, the answers were shown in the Option ID, whose matching was done with the last two digits of the Option ID by stacking in the order of 1, 2, 3, 4.
However, no explanation was given on the website in this regard. In such a situation, the confusion among the students regarding the released answer key had increased further

Aspirants Get Sigh of Relief After NTA’s Decision to Return to Previous Pattern
Now NTA has again changed this pattern and restored the previous years’ pattern. In this , the answers of the students’ recorded responses and the answers in the provisional answer key have been shown as option IDs, so that students can check their answers as per the number issued by NTA. Aspirants can estimate their marks by clearly matching the answer key.
Earlier, the aspirants were given time upto 11 pm on February 8 to challenge the provisional answer key. Now NTA has extended the last date for challenging the provisional answer key to 9th February.
NTA has released the recorded responses of all the 11 shifts of BE-B.Tech and B.Arch between January 24 and February 1. NTA score of this session is proposed to be released on 12th February.
