Result Withheld Showing Duplicate Application in April Session Exam Results
The April session results of JEE-Main 2024 of hundreds of students have been withheld. Despite appearing in the examination, the results of session-2 of these students have not been released and the reason given in the result is duplicate application number.
With the release of the JEE Main 2024 results, many cases came to light in which the results of the April session of the students were not released and the All India Rank was released only on the basis of the results of the January session. N-A (Not Available) is written in the results of the April session of these students.
Along with this, in the NTA score column, the word ‘duplicate’ is written along with the application number of January. It is noteworthy that these are the students who appeared for the JEE Main 2024 January and JEE Main 2024 April Session exams on the basis of different registration numbers. Considering the different application numbers of these students as unique,
NTA has issued a single All India Rank and Category Rank for them. Now, a big challenge has come in front of these students that even after appearing in the examination of April session, they will have to do counseling on the basis of All India Rank and Category Rank obtained in January session. However, it is quite possible that their April examination would have been better than that of January due to which they are likely to have better NTA score.
During the application process, no such information was issued to the students that the results of the students appearing in the examination in different sessions on different application numbers would be withheld. If this had been the case then the application for April examination would have been stopped with the new application number by matching their personal details during the application itself.
But now NTA has withheld the results after matching the data of the students and considering the new applications for April exam as duplicate. This is a challenge for these students in the future that neither new All India Rank can be issued on their April application nor further changes can be made.
Total 10 lakh 67 thousand 959 students appeared for the April session, out of which 8 lakh 22 thousand 899 students appeared for the April as well as January examination.
Apart from this, there were 2 lakh 45 thousand 60 students who applied for the April examination and appeared for it. Out of 2 lakh 45 thousand students, there are hundreds of students who appeared for January and April exams with different registration numbers. After fetching the data of these students, the results have not been released considering them as duplicate applications.
After the results of JEE-Main, now the top 2.50 lakh selected students have been declared eligible for the JEE-Advanced 2024 examination. JEE-Advanced 2024 applications will start from 5 pm on April 27. The last date of application has been kept till 7th May. Students will have to apply by logging in with the JEE-Main application number and password created during the application. The JEE-Advanced exam will be held on May 26 in two shifts.
