Registration Begins for IISER-IAT 2026

The Application Process Started on March 5th

The application process for the IISER Aptitude Test 2026 began on March 5th, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website, iiseradmission.in. The deadline for applications is April 13, 2026.

Students are advised to complete the application process well in advance, without waiting for the deadline, to avoid technical issues.

Which IISER Institutes Will Offer Admission?

IAT 2026 will offer admission to undergraduate programs at seven leading IISER institutes in the country. These institutes include:

  • IISER Berhampur
  • IISER Bhopal
  • IISER Kolkata
  • IISER Mohali
  • IISER Pune
  • IISER Thiruvananthapuram
  • IISER Tirupati

All of these institutes offer five-year BS-MS dual degree programs, as well as several other science-based courses. These programs aim to prepare students for scientific research and innovation.

Admission in the 2026-27 session will be based solely on the IAT score.

IISER administration has clarified that admission in the 2026-27 academic session will be based solely on the IAT score. Previously, some institutes offered other admission routes, but this time the admission process will be entirely based on the IAT exam.

This means that admission to IISER will not be based on JEE scores this year. Therefore, students aiming to enrol at IISER will need to focus fully on preparing for the IAT exam.

Correction Window for Application Corrections

If a student makes an application error, they will be given the opportunity to correct it. IISER will provide an application correction window from April 16 to April 18, 2026.

During this period, candidates will be able to make necessary amendments to their application information.

When will admit cards be released?

  • Admit cards for the IAT 2026 exam will be released on May 24, 2026. Candidates will be able to download their admit card by logging in to the official website.
  • It will be mandatory to carry a valid photo ID along with the admit card to the exam center.
  • IAT 2026 Exam to be Held on June 7
  • The IISER Aptitude Test 2026 will be held on June 7, 2026. The exam is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode, with questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. The exam aims to assess students’ scientific understanding, analytical ability, and conceptual knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria for IAT 2026

Candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria to apply for IAT 2026.

  • Candidates must have passed or are pursuing 12th grade in 2024, 2025, or 2026.
  • 12th grade must be from the science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology).
  • Candidates must have passed 12th grade from a recognized board.

In addition, minimum marks requirements may apply, as determined by the institute, details of which are provided in the official information booklet.
