Seat matrix released on JoSAA website
Admission will be available on 16598 seats of 23 IITs in the country
There is good news for the students who want to study at the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) in the country. Admission will be available on a total of 16598 seats of 23 IITs in the country this year, which is 366 more than last year. Last year, admission was given to a total of 16232 seats. This information was released on the Joint Counseling website of IIT-NIT, (JoSAA).
Seats in IIITs and GFTIs also increased
Similarly, 980 seats in the Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIITs) and 681 in Government funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) have been increased. Thus, this year 2024 seats have increased, out of which 1490 are from gender neutral pool, and 534 seats from the supernumerary female pool.
Admission to 54477 seats of IITs, NITs, GFTIs & IIITs will be given through JoSAA
Amit Ahuja, career counseling expert at Allen Career Institute said that admission to a total of 54477 seats of 23 IITs, 32 NITs, 33 GFTIs, and 26 IIITs will be given through JoSAA counseling this year. Of which 16598 seats are of 23 IITs including 15031 seats from the gender-neutral pool, and 1567 are from the supernumerary female pool. Similarly, out of 23994 seats in 32 NITs, 23245 are from a gender-neutral pool, and 749 seats from the supernumerary female pool. Out of the 7126 seats of 26 IIITs, 6501 seats belong to the gender-neutral pool and 625 from the supernumerary female pool. Of the 6759 seats of 33 GFTIs, 6729 are from the gender-neutral pool and 30 are from the supernumerary female pool.
Through JoSAA counseling, out of a total of 54477 seats of all IITs, NITs, and IIITs; 51506 seats from the gender-neutral pool and 2971 seats from the supernumerary female pool will be allocated.
