Physics-Bio Was Easy, Chemistry Was Difficult – Dr Brajesh Maheshwari
The country’s biggest medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024 was conducted by the National Testing Agency on Sunday in offline pen-paper mode. NEET paper was NCERT based. Physics and Biology were easy while Chemistry was difficult.
This time, the Chemistry paper will determine the rank. No questions were asked from Ionic Equilibrium in Chemistry and 5 questions came from Physical Chemistry which was added to the syllabus this year.
Whereas not a single question was asked from the topic Experimental Skills, which was added to the syllabus this year. In Biology, some questions were asked from old NCERT and some questions were also asked from outside the NCERT syllabus.

Students Connected to ALLEN Mega Live Stream
ALLEN Mega Live Stream Event was organized by ALLEN Career Institute for the students appearing in NEET-UG 2024 examination. Here, immediately after the paper, ALLEN expert faculty discussed all the questions of the paper one by one. Live Answer Key, Video Solutions, Paper Analysis and Rank Predictor was also released.
This live reached millions of students through various mediums. Students mainly were connected with ALLEN NEET Channel on YouTube.
Physics
Physics paper was overall tougher than last year. Calculation was difficult in many questions. All questions were asked from ALLEN modules. Class-wise, 20 questions were asked from class 11th syllabus and 30 questions were asked from class 12th syllabus.
Not a single question was asked from the topic Experimental Skills, which was added to the syllabus this year. There were 15 easy questions from Mechanics, three from Thermal Physics and two from SHM and Waves. Similarly, 17 difficult questions came from Electrodynamics.
Four good level questions were asked from Optics and nine from Modern Physics and Electronics. Single correct 42, multiple correct 3, one question of assertion and reasoning, two Questions of statement type and two questions of match the column were asked.
Chemistry
Chemistry paper was a little tougher than last year. Overall the standard of the paper was good. Inorganic Chemistry was somewhat tougher than last year, Physical Chemistry was tougher than last year while the level of Organic Chemistry remained the same as last year.
If we compare Inorganic Chemistry, 15 questions were asked from Physical chemistry in NEET 2023 whereas 19 questions were asked in NEET 2024.
Last year there were 17 questions from Inorganic, whereas this year 15 questions were asked. Similarly, in Organic Chemistry last year there were 18 questions whereas this year there were 16 questions.
Class-wise, in class 11th, 12 questions were asked from Physical chemistry, 10 from Inorganic Chemistry and 5 from Organic chemistry. Whereas from the 12th class syllabus, there were 7 questions on Physical chemistry, 5 on Inorganic Chemistry and 11 on Organic Chemistry.
There were 5 questions from Physical Chemistry which were added to the syllabus this year. No questions were asked from Ionic Equilibrium. There were 5 questions of statement type and 7 questions of match the column.
Biology
The level of Biology paper remained the same as last year and all the questions were asked from ALLEN modules only. Some questions were asked from old NCERT syllabus in which topics like animal tissue and cockroaches were included.
Cockroach was not there in the updated syllabus of NTA which was added later and two questions from it appeared in the paper. Some questions also came out of NCERT syllabus. There were 27 questions from Botany in class 11th and 23 questions from class 12th. Whereas 27 questions came from class 11th Zoology and 23 questions came from class 12th.
The number of single correct questions was 45. Whereas 13 questions were of multiple correct, 2 of assertion reasoning, 10 of statement type and 30 questions of match the column.
