JEE Main 2024 Session 2 (9 April-Shift I & II) – Paper Analysis by ALLEN

JEE Main 2024 Session-2 (9 April) Exam Was Held in 2 Shifts on Tuesday

The first session of the country’s largest Engineering Entrance Exam JEE Main 2024 Session 2 for admission to BE-BTech courses started on Thursday. The exam was conducted in Computer Based Mode.

ASAT-2024

Based on the feedback of the students and the feedback received on ALLEN Digital, the paper was based on NCERT syllabus. The paper was normal to moderate.

Chemistry

The paper was easy in the morning shift. Section 1 had three to four assertion reason type questions. Similarly, 1 question each was asked from Quantum Number, Periodic Properties, Chemical Bonding (3), Coordination Chemistry (2), F Block, Electron Displacement Effect, Basic Strength, Isomerism, Halogen, Derivative, Reduction of Organic Compound, Aromatic Compound (2), Biomolecule. Similarly, one question each came from Mole Concept, Atomic Structure, Chemical Equilibrium, Liquid Solution, Chemical Kinetic, Thermochemistry, Ionic, Equilibrium and Electro Chemistry.

The paper in the evening shift was of moderate level. Three to four match the columns and two-three statement type questions were asked. There was one question each from Quantum Number, Periodic Properties, F Block, Electron Displacement Effect, Purification, Halogen Derivative, Alcohol Ether, Carbonyl Compound, Name Reaction and Biomolecule. Two questions each were asked from Chemical Bonding and Coordination Compounds and Chemical Kinetics. One question each was asked from Atomic Structure, Thermodynamics 2, Ionic Equilibrium and Electro Chemistry.

Maths

The paper was comparatively easy in the morning shift. One question each was asked from Quadratic Equation, Sequence and Series, Probability, P&C, Complex Number, Determinant and Matrix and two questions were asked from Binomial Theorem. Whereas in Calculus, one question each came from Inverse Trigonometry, Limits, Continuity, Differential Equations, Area Under Curve and Indefinite Integration. Similarly, one question each was asked from Method of Differentiation and Application of Derivatives and two questions each from Vector and 3D.

In Coordinate Geometry, one question was asked from Circle, one from Ellipse and two from Straight Line. Similarly, one question each came from set theory and statistics. The paper in the evening shift was of moderate level. One question was asked from Quadratic Equation, two from Sequence and Series, one from Probability, one from Complex Number, one from Matrix and one from Binomial Theorem.

Whereas in Calculus, one question each was asked from Limits, Differential Equations, Area Under Curve and three questions from Indefinite Integration. Similarly, one question each came from Method of Differentiation and Application of Derivatives. Three questions were asked from vector and 3D. In Compound Angle, Coordinate Geometry, one question each came from Circle and Ellipse. There was also one question each from set theory and statistics.

Physics

The paper was easy in the morning shift. One question each was asked from Class 11th syllabus on Unit and Dimension, Vector to Vector Addition, Kinematics to Average Velocity, Newton’s Law of Motion, Work Power Energy to Work Energy Theorem, Rotational Kinematics. While one question on Rigid Body Equilibrium, one question from Elasticity on Young’s Modulus, one question from Thermodynamics on Adiabatic Process, one question from Fluid Mechanics on Archimedes’ Principle, one question from Simple Harmonic Motion, one question from Gravitation on Planetary Motion, one question from Instruments Asked on Vernier Caliper. Whereas one question on Geometrical Optics from Class 12 syllabus was based on the statement on lenses.

One question from electrostatic was on semi circular ring. There were three questions from Current Electricity out of which one was on Circuit Analysis, the second question was on Complex Circuit and the third question was on Galvanometer. Similarly, one question from capacitance was on Equivalent Capacitance of Different Size Plates. One question was based on statement from Magnetic Effect of Current. One question was also asked on Electromagnetic Induction and one question was asked on RC Circuit from Alternating Current.
One question was based on magnetic field coming out of EM wave and the other was based on statement. One question from Optics was on YDSE. Two questions were also asked from Modern Physics. A question came from Semiconductor on Forbidden Energy Gap. The paper was easy in the evening shift.

From class 11th syllabus, one question each was asked from Unit and Dimension, Vector, Newton’s Law of Motion, Kinematics, Work Power Energy, Momentum Conservation, Rotational Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Simple Harmonic Motion, Gravitation and Fluid Mechanics.

Two questions were asked from these. One question was on excess pressure. In class 12th syllabus, one question from geometrical optics, two questions from electrostatics, two questions from current electricity, one question from magnetic effect of current, one question each from electromagnetic induction and alternating current and one question from EM waves and wave optics on YDSE. . Whereas there were three questions from Modern Physics. Out of which one question was on photoelectric effect, the second on emission spectrum and the third on fusion reaction. Two questions from Semiconductor one of which was on logic gates
