Happy Dussehra – Lessons for Students from Lord Ram’s Triumph Over Raavan

Students Can Draw Inspiration From Lord Ram’s Character & Downfall of Demon King, Raavan

In the epic Ramayana, the battle between Raavan and Lord Ram symbolizes an eternal conflict that unfolds within our minds every day. It’s a battle between the forces of good and evil, between our choices that benefit our well-being and those that don’t, and between our actions that make us better individuals and those that do not.

While Raavan possessed many advantages over Lord Ram, such as a formidable army, control over planetary alignments, and the protection of Maa Tara, it was his character that ultimately led to his downfall. Lord Ram’s unwavering character was the decisive factor that brought down the mighty Raavan. As educators, we can draw inspiration from Lord Ram’s character and emphasize the importance of five key qualities that students must develop:

Dridh Vrat – Determination:

Students should be resolute in their commitment to maintaining discipline, staying focused on their studies, completing daily tasks, and revising the syllabus covered.

Chaarithrenacha koyuktaha – Strong Character:

Honesty and integrity are foundational for academic excellence. Students should be honest about their shortcomings and failures, avoiding the path of cheating, which inevitably leads to failure.

Charitrena – Good Behavior:

Cultivating good behavior is essential for fostering a positive outlook on life. How a student behaves in class affects their ability to absorb knowledge. Interactions with teachers and fellow students play a pivotal role in receiving support to overcome weaknesses and maintain high morale.

Vidhvaan – Knowledgeable and in Pursuit:

Students should possess a thirst for knowledge and be constantly in pursuit of it. A combination of current knowledge and a hunger for learning leads to academic growth.

Saamarth – Capability:

A student should have the capacity to learn all subjects in their syllabus and be adaptable to learning under any circumstance, regardless of adversity.

As we reflect on these qualities and the timeless battle between good and evil, I extend my warmest wishes to the reader on this auspicious Dussehra. May the inherent goodness within us always triumph over the forces of evil.
