कोरोना में पिता और परीक्षा से पहले मां को खोया, नीट क्रेक कर दी परिजनों को श्रद्धांजलि

जमशेदपुर की निधि दुखों से नहीं हारी, नीट में सफलता हासिल कर परिजनों का सपना पूरा किया

माता-पिता हर जीवन के आधार होते हैं। यह आधार नहीं हो तो जीवन धराशायी हो जाता है। ऐसे समय में मजबूत संकल्प के सहारे ही खड़ा रहा जा सकता है। कुछ ऐसा ही दृढ़ संकल्प है, निधि का। यह कहानी एक मां, बेटी और पिता के सपनों की है। वैश्विक महामारी कोरोना के दौरान पिता की मौत के बाद मां ने न सिर्फ घर संभाला बल्कि बेटी का कॅरियर बनाने में भी अहम भूमिका अदा की। बेटी को डॉक्टर बनाने के लिए घर से हजारों किलोमीटर दूर कोटा पढ़ने भेजा।

बेटी सफलता की इबारत लिखने के लिए तैयार हुई, सफलता की कहानी सुनाती इससे पहले मां की सड़क हादसे में मौत हो गई। बेटी ने दुःख को ताकत बनाया और खुद को संभालते हुए नीट की तैयारी करना जारी रखा। यह बेटी है झारखंड के जमशेदपुर निवासी निधि वर्मा। जिसने आखिरकार चौथे अटैम्प्ट में नीट क्रेक कर अपने माता-पिता को सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि दी है। हाल ही में जारी नीट यूजी 2023 के रिजल्ट में 631 अंक हासिल किए हैं।

पापा के अंतिम शब्द थे ‘तीनों को पढ़ाना जरूर’

निधि ने बताया कि पिता सुभाष कुमार वर्मा जमशेदपुर में कॉस्मेटिक व आर्टिफीशियल ज्वैलरी की दुकान चलाते थे। हम तीनों भाई-बहिनों की पढ़ाई को लेकर वे सीरियस थे। उन्होंने मां के गहने बेचकर और इधर-उधर से पैसा उधार लेकर दुकान किराए से लेकर बिजनेस शुरू किया था।

कुछ खास इनकम नहीं होती थी। पापा ने कुछ पैसा बैंक में जमा किया हुआ था ताकि हमारी पढ़ाई चलती रहे। पापा का सपना था कि मैं डॉक्टर बनूं। इसी बीच 3 मई 2021 को कोरोना से उनका निधन हो गया। अंतिम समय में पापा ने मम्मी से कहा था कि तीनों बच्चों को पढ़ाना जरूर।

दुकान के सामान बेचकर चुकाया कर्ज

पापा के निधन के बाद दुकान बंद हो गई। पापा दूसरों से उधार लेकर दुकान में सामान भरते थे। सामान बिकने के बाद ही पैसा चुकाते थे। उनके जाने के बाद पापा जिन लोगों से माल लाते थे, उन्होनें पैसों का तकाजा करना शुरू कर दिया। इसके लिए जो सामान था वो वापिस लौटाया। इसके बाद भी कुछ उधारी बच गई तो रिश्तेदारों से पैसा लेकर उसे चुकाया।

मां से मिली हिम्मत

निधि ने बताया कि पापा से भावनात्मक रूप से काफी जुड़ी हुई थी। उनके बिना मैं खुद की कल्पना भी नहीं करती थी। मम्मी ने हिम्मत बंधाई और कहा कि ‘पापा चले गए तो क्या हुआ ?, मैं तुझे पढ़ाऊंगी और डॉक्टर भी बनाऊंगी। हम दोनों का सपना जरूर साकार होगा।’ मां ने जैसे-तैसे कर हम तीनों को पढ़ाना जारी रखा। मैंने 2020 में 12वीं कक्षा 94.2 प्रतिशत अंकों से पास की थी और इसी साल सेल्फ स्टडी कर नीट का एग्जाम भी दिया था, जिसमें 480 मार्क्स आए थे।

वर्ष 2021 में कोविड की वजह से कोचिंग संस्थान बंद थे। मैंने इंटरनेट से नोट्स डाउनलोड कर नीट की तैयारी की। मई-2021 में पापा चले गए और सितंबर में नीट की परीक्षा थी जिसमें मेरे 536 मार्क्स आए थे। इन मार्क्स पर कॉलेज नहीं मिला, एक बार फिर तैयारी में जुट गई। नीट 2022 में 538 मार्क्स आए। इस बार हिम्मत जवाब दे गई लेकिन मम्मी ने हौंसला बढ़ाते हुए कहा कि तू कर सकती है, एक बार आखिरी कोशिश कर ले।

मां का सदमा बहुत दुखदायी था

निधि ने बताया कि मां ने वर्ष 2022 में नीट की तैयारी के लिए कोटा भेजा। पापा ने एफडी करवा रखी थी, कुछ पैसा उसमें से निकला तो कुछ पैसो की मदद रिश्तेदारों ने की। मेरे साथ मेरा भाई भी था जिसे जेईई की तैयारी करनी थी लेकिन पैसों की कमी होने से दोनों में से कोई एक ही कोटा आ सकता था।

मैंने एलन कोटा में एडमिशन लिया और हर टेस्ट में मेरी परफॉर्मेन्स भी अच्छी आ रही थी। पूरी फैमिली को विश्वास था कि इस बार मेडिकल कॉलेज में सीट मिल ही जाएगी। मैं दिन-रात तैयारी में जुटी हुई थी लेकिन अभी एक झटका लगना और बाकी था। इसी साल 5 फरवरी 2023 को मम्मी का सड़क हादसे में निधन हो गया, मेरी जैसे हिम्मत ही टूट गई।

भाई ने दिया साथ

मम्मी के एक्सीडेंट के समय मैं कोटा थी। मुझे बताया कि मम्मी का एक्सीडेंट हो गया और वे एडमिट हैं। मुझे घर बुलाया गया था लेकिन दूरी होने की वजह से मुझे पहुंचने में दो दिन लगते। मौसी के बेटे अभिजीत भैया ने मेरा साथ दिया। वो आईआईटी मुम्बई से पास आउट हैं। उन्होनें फ्लाइट के पैसे एकाउंट में डलवाए। कोटा में हॉस्टल के केयर टेकर मुझे जयपुर छोड़ने गए और जमशेदपुर के लिए फ्लाइट पकड़ी। एक महीने बाद वापस कोटा लौटी क्योंकि मम्मी-पापा का सपना साकार जो करना था।

कोटा आने के बाद मैं काफी डिस्टर्ब रहती थी इसलिए एलन कॅरियर इंस्टीट्यूट में फैकल्टीज ने मेरी मानसिक स्थिति देखकर काउंसलर्स से काउंसलिंग करवाई। मैं यहां विशेष रूप से कहना चाहूंगी कि मम्मी-पापा चले गए लेकिन अभिजीत भैया आज दिन तक मेरे साथ हैं। पैसां की मदद के साथ भावनात्मक रूप से भी उन्होनें काफी मदद की। खुद नीट की परीक्षा दिलाने के लिए मेरे साथ आए।

मम्मी-पापा के नाम से एनजीओ खोलूंगी

निधि ने बताया कि एमबीबीएस करने के बाद मम्मी-पापा के नाम से एनजीओ खोलकर समाज सेवा करूंगी। इसके अलावा सबसे छोटा भाई जो कि नवोदय में पढ़ता है, उसका कॅरियर बनाने में पूरी मदद करूंगी। वो जिस भी फील्ड में जाना चाहे, उसे मेरा पूरा सपोर्ट मिलेगा।

एलन कॅरियर इंस्टीट्यूट के निदेशक नवीन माहेश्वरी ने कहा कि जीवन में सबसे बड़ा आघात माता-पिता का साया सर से उठना होता है, क्योंकि उन्हीं के भरोसे जीवन बहुत सहज लगता है। निधि ने अपने दुखों को समेटा और हिम्मत जुटाकर अपने लक्ष्य को साधा है, वो हम सभी के लिए प्रेरणा है। ऐसे बच्चों का सपना एलन पूरा कर रहा है, यह हमारे लिए गर्व की बात है।

After the father’s death during the global pandemic Corona, the mother not only took care of the house but also played an important role in building her daughter’s career. To make daughter a doctor, sent her thousands of kilometers away from home to study in Kota. The daughter got ready to write the story of success, but before she could narrate the story of success to her mother, her mother died in a road accident.

The daughter turned grief into strength and continued to prepare for NEET while managing herself. This daughter is Nidhi Verma, resident of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. She has finally paid true tribute to his parents by cracking NEET in the fourth attempt. She has scored 657 marks out of 720 marks in the recently released NEET UG 2023 result. She has secured AIR 5100 and Category rank of 1716.

Papa’s Last Words Were ‘Must Teach All Three’

Nidhi told that father Subhash Kumar Verma used to run a cosmetic and artificial jewellery shop in Jamshedpur. He was serious about the studies of all three siblings. He started the business by selling his mother’s jewellery and renting a shop by borrowing money from here and there.

There was no special income. Papa had deposited some money in the bank so that our studies could continue. My father’s dream was that I should become a doctor. Meanwhile, he died on 3 May 2021 from Corona. At the last moment, father had told mother that all the three children must get education.

Loan Repaid By Selling Shop Goods

The shop was closed after father’s death. Papa used to fill the shop by borrowing from others. He would pay money only after the goods were sold. After his departure, the people from whom father used to bring goods started demanding money. The goods were returned to such people. Even after this, some debt was remaining which was repaid by borrowing money from relatives.

Courage From Mother

Nidhi told that she was very emotionally attached to her father. I couldn’t even imagine myself without him. Mummy mustered courage and said, ‘What if father has left? I will teach you and also make you a doctor. The dream of both of us will definitely come true. Mother continued to teach all three of us as she could.

I passed class 12th in 2020 with 94.2 percent marks and this year also gave NEET exam by doing self-study, in which I scored 480 marks. In the year 2021, coaching institutes were closed due to Covid. I prepared for NEET by downloading notes from the internet. Papa left in May-2021 and there was NEET exam in September in which I got 536 marks. Did not get college on these marks, once again started preparing. Got 538 marks in NEET 2022. My courage give up this time, but the mother encouraged me and said that you can do it, try one last time.

Mother’s Shock Was Very Painful

Nidhi told that mother sent her Kota for the preparation of NEET in the year 2022. Father had got FD done, some money came out of it and some money was helped by relatives. I had my brother with me who had to prepare for JEE but due to paucity of money only one of us two could come to Kota.

I took admission in ALLEN Kota and my performance was good in every test. The whole family was sure that this time I would get a seat in the medical college. I was busy preparing day and night but there was still one more setback left. This year, on 5 February 2023, mother died in a road accident, like me, my courage was broken.

Brother Supported

I was in Kota at the time of my mother’s accident. I was told that mummy had an accident and she is admitted. I was called home but due to the distance it would take me two days to reach. Aunt’s son Abhijeet Bhaiya supported me. He is pass out from IIT Bombay. He got the money deposited in the account for the flight. The caretaker of the hostel in Kota dropped me to Jaipur and I took a flight to Jamshedpur. Returned back to Kota after a month because I had to realize the dream of parents.

After coming to Kota, I used to be very disturbed, so the faculties at ALLEN Career Institute, seeing my mental state, facilitated counselling for me from the counsellors. I would like to specially say here that my parents are gone but Abhijeet Bhaiya is with me till today. Along with the financial help, he also helped a lot emotionally. When I had to take NEET Exam, he accompanied me.

Will Open NGO in The Name Of Parents

Nidhi told that after doing MBBS, she will do social service by opening an NGO in the name of her parents. Apart from this, I will give full help to the youngest brother who is studying in Navodaya in making his career. In whatever field he wants to go, he will get my full support.

Nidhi is An Inspiration For All: Naveen Maheshwari

Naveen Maheshwari, director of ALLEN Career Institute, said that the biggest shock in life is the loss of parents since life seems very easy depending on them. Nidhi has overcome her sorrows and gathered courage to achieve her goal, she is an inspiration for all of us.
