Along with Education, Kota Also Gives Courage to Struggle
Along with education, Kota also gives courage to struggle. Teaches to fight the situation and move forward. Its example of this has emerged in the results of JEE-Main. Kota has made the destiny of talented Rahul Kumar Sahu from a poor BPL family of Angul district of Odisha.
Kota stood by him at a time when he needed it the most. In the JEE-Main results, Allen student Rahul secured All India Rank 17873 and OBC Category Rank 4459 with 99 percentile score. He has qualified for JEE-Advanced. Thousands of kilometers away from Kota, a family from Angul district of Odisha saw a dream and started efforts to make it come true.
Despite weak financial condition, Rahul came to Kota to become an engineer. Took admission at ALLEN Career Institute. When I explained my situation to the institute, I got 50 percent concession in fees. The journey proceeded. He left no stone unturned in his hard work but when the test results did not come as expected, Rahul was upset.
Somehow one year passed, Rahul felt that he would not be able to achieve the target and his father’s hard-earned money would also be ruined. He talked to his father and decided to return home. When the counselors at the institute were informed about Rahul’s decision of returning without appearing in the examination, they comprehended him and motivated him through many examples of struggle to success.
Rahul and his father felt that he should appear in the examination, then with the support of the faculty and new inspiration, Rahul started working hard again. The result of this success through struggle was also positive. He scored 99 percentile in JEE-Main and now started preparing for Advanced. His goal is to do B.Tech from IIT.
Didn’t Know What JEE is?
Rahul told that my Maths was good from the beginning. I wanted to become an engineer but did not know what to do for it. Then when I gathered information from the internet, I came to know that for this one has to appear for JEE exam. Then I decided to prepare for it.
Teachers in the school informed about ALLEN Career Institute for the preparation of JEE and NEET and I came to Kota in the year 2022. It was not easy for me but ‘where there is a will, there is a way’.
The Family Runs on a Shoestring
Rahul said that no one in our family had become an engineer before. Father has studied only till 10th and mother till 12th. My father Saroj Kumar Sahu has a small roadside stall. The family depends on this. Mother Jyotsna Mayi Sahu is a housewife and my family is in BPL category.
When they came to know about my decision to go to Kota, my relatives themselves came forward and took the initiative to help. First arranged the fees. After this, every month the relatives added money for rent and food and sent it to me.
ALLEN Helped
I came to Kota in the year 2022 to take admission at ALLEN. Here I explained my financial situation. Considering my dedication and old academic record, the institute offered me 50 percent concession in fees for the first year. After this, concession was given for the second year also. I won Gold medal in International Mathematical Olympiad in 10th class.
Vacated the Room, Packed the Bags and Bedding
Rahul told that in the year 2023-24, the economic situation had worsened a lot when the income decreased in the month of October. My performance in tests also went down. Papa expressed his inability to teach me. I also had no solution to the problem. Hence, I took decision to leave Kota and vacated the room.
When the faculty at ALLEN came to know about this, they called me and said, ‘Kota does not send people with disappointment. If you work hard your dream will definitely come true. After this, the institute gave me concession in fees due to which I got support and could stay in Kota. I am currently busy preparing for JEE Advanced. Making the dream of going to IIT come true.
Kota Creates the Future
There is everything for the students studying in Kota. There are many students like Rahul who try and pass through Kota with success. Kota creates the future, by coming here the student is taught not only education but also the courage to struggle. That is why it is called Career and Care City. – Mr. Naveen Maheshwari, Director, ALLEN.
