“Father will give Medicine on Son’s Prescription”
Ramesh Jani, a Resident of Data Village in Dhorimanna Tehsil of Barmer District Scored 636 Marks in NEET.
Nothing can be a bigger thing for a helper working in a drugstore than that one day he reads such a prescription and gives medicine that his son has written. Some such proud moments are now coming in the life of Asuram, who is a helper at a drugstore and still dispenses medicines at the behest of the owner. Asuram says this is like a dream come true since his son Ramesh has cleared NEET with 636 marks.
Ramesh’s success is the story of father’s dreams and son’s hard work. Ramesh’s family resides in Data village of Dhorimanna tehsil of Barmer district. There are five members in the family including Ramesh’s parents and two siblings. The family is financially backward. Father Asuram Jani used to work in diamond polishing till about four-five years ago. When adverse times struck, his work stopped. Asuram returned to the village and now he is working as a helper in a medical store. Earns Rs 10000-12000 a month. Asuram lives in a kutcha house, and the family is in the BPL category. Some time ago only one room was built under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme with the approval of the administration, the rest of the house is still kutcha. There is a small agricultural land holding from which edible grains are produced. Water and electricity came into the house only two years ago. Mother Mohini Devi is a housewife. There are about 200 houses in Data village and still, electricity is available only for about 4-5 hours. Sister is pursuing BSTC while brother is studying in 12th standard.
Ramesh told that the situation of the family was grim, and he has seen his father getting troubled for everything including school studies and now college studies. I want to improve the financial condition of the family by becoming a doctor. Ramesh tried continuously for success in the medical entrance exam NEET. There were failures but Ramesh did not panic. With the support of Allen Career Institute in Kota and Samrathal Foundation, a voluntary organization of Jodhpur, he could achieve success in NEET. Now I will become the first doctor of my village. He wants to help the children of the village by making them aware of education.
Free School Education for Ramesh
Ramesh was a promising student from the beginning. He has passed class 10th with 82% marks and class 12th with 86% marks. Since three children of Ramesh’s maternal uncle’s family also studied in the school, the school management made Ramesh’s education free. After class 12th, Ramesh prepared himself for the NEET exam in the year 2019, in which he scored 414 out of 720 marks. It was not possible to get into a medical college with such low marks, then Allen Career Institute extended a helping hand to Ramesh, and Samrathal Foundation also supported him. Scored 529 marks in NEET 2020 and 575 in NEET 2021. Due to the continuous improvement in marks, Ramesh was confident that one day he would get admission in the medical college. His failures did not deter him and he kept on preparing. In NEET 2022, Ramesh got the fruits of his hard work and secured the All India Rank 7600 by securing 636 marks out of 720.
Children who struggle and move forward in adversity are an example for society. Other children are also inspired by students like Ramesh. Allen is always ready to help such talents. The success of these children is the success of determination.
