भैंस बेचकर कोचिंग कराई, अब बेटा बनेगा परिवार का पहला डॉक्टर

मध्यप्रदेश के देवास में सेतवास तहसील निवासी सोहम गुर्जर ने क्रेक की नीट

इंदौर. ‘मंजिलें उन्हीं को मिलती है, जिनके सपनों में जान होती है, परों से कुछ नहीं होता, हौंसलों से उड़ान होती है….‘ दृढ़ संकल्प और आगे बढ़ने की चाह के हौसले की बानगी प्रस्तुत की है सोहम गुर्जर ने। एलन कॅरियर इंस्टीट्यूट इंदौर के छात्र सोहम गुर्जर ने विपरीत परिस्थितियों के चलते डॉक्टर बनने का सपना देखा और उसे पूरा करके बताया। पूरे परिवार को सोहम की सफलता पर गर्व है।

हाल ही में जारी मेडिकल प्रवेश परीक्षा नीट यूजी-2023 के परिणामों में सोहम ने 720 में से 657 अंक हासिल किए। आल इंडिया रैंक 5100 तथा कैटेगिरी रैंक 1716 रही। अब वो अपने परिवार का पहला एवं गांव का दूसरा युवा है जो डॉक्टर बनने जा रहा है। हालांकि संफलता का सफर आसान नहीं था।

भैंस बेचकर कोचिंग कराई

12वीं कक्षा उत्तीर्ण करने के बाद सोहम नीट की तैयारी करना चाहता था लेकिन, परिवार की स्थिति ठीक नहीं थी। सोहम के पिता जिला सहकारी समिति में बतौर सेल्समैन काम करते हैं। 7 हजार रूपए मासिक वेतन मिलता है। थोड़ी बहुत जमीन है जिससे कुछ इनकम एवं खाने लायक अनाज पैदा हो जाता है।

ऐसे में बेटे को कोचिंग कराने के लिए उन्होनें अपनी भैंस करीब 65 हजार रूपए में बेची और सोहम को एलन इंदौर में एडमिशन कराया। एलन ने भी परिवार की स्थिति देखते हुए फीस में रियायत दी। सोहम ने वर्ष 2022 में एलन इंदौर में एडमिशन लिया और पहले ही अटैम्प्ट में नीट यूजी 2023 की परीक्षा क्रेक कर ली। इंदौर से सोहम का घर मात्र 100 किलोमीटर दूर लेकिन पढ़ाई की वजह से वो पूरे साल में सिर्फ दो बार ही घर गया था।

डॉक्टर बनाना पिता का सपना

सोहम मध्यप्रदेश के देवास जिले की सेतवास तहसील में अतवास गांव का निवासी है। सोहम के पिता देवीसिंह गुर्जर का शुरू से सपना रहा है कि वो सोहम को डॉक्टर बनाना चाहते थे। आर्थिक स्थिति सही नहीं होने के बावजूद उन्होंने सोहम को पढ़ाने के लिए हरसंभव प्रयास किए। उन्होनें 8वीं कक्षा के बाद ही सोहम को बोल दिया था कि ‘तुझे डॉक्टर बनना है।

पैसों की चिंता मत करना, तू सिर्फ पढ़ाई कर डॉक्टर बनकर दिखा। असफलताओं से भी घबराना मत। दिल से मेहनत करेगा तो एक दिन जरूर तू डॉक्टर बनकर मेरा नाम रोशन करेगा’। पिता देवीसिंह ग्रेजुएट हैं कि जबकि मां अनिता गुर्जर 11वीं कक्षा तक पढ़ी हैं। सोहम से बड़ी तीन बहिनें भी हैं, जिनकी शादी हो चुकी है लेकिन वे ससुराल में रहकर भी पढ़ रही हैं। सबसे बड़ा बहिन ग्रेजुएट है। दूसरे नंबर की बहिन बीएड व्यापम की तैयारी कर रही है। जबकि सोहम से छोटी बहिन ने हाल ही में बीएड पूरी की है।

पढ़ाई में होशियार

सोहम शुरुआत से ही पढ़ाई में होशियार रहा है। उसने 10वीं कक्षा तक गांव के ही प्राइवेट स्कूल से पढ़ाई की है। इसके बाद 11वीं और 12वीं कक्षा में गांव के ही सरकारी स्कूल से पढ़ाई की। उसने वर्ष 2020 में 10वीं कक्षा 97.33 प्रतिशत अंकों से उत्तीर्ण की। इसके बाद वर्ष 2022 में 12वीं कक्षा 88 प्रतिशत अंकों से उत्तीर्ण की है।

उसे डॉक्टर तो बनना था लेकिन, पता नहीं था कि इसके लिए क्या करना होता है। उसके मामा व मौसी ने उसे जानकारी दी और नीट की तैयारी के लिए एलन इंदौर में एडमिशन लेने की सलाह दी।

चाचा की बीमारी ने बदला मन

सोहम के चाचा का कैंसर की वजह से निधन हो चुका है। सोहम ने बताया कि गांवों में ऐसी बीमारियों के बारे में जागरूकता कम है और व्यक्ति को जब तक बीमारी के बारे में पता चलता है, तब तक काफी देर हो चुकी होती है। मैंने चाचा के बीमारी के दर्द को काफी पास से देखा है। समय रहते बीमारी के बारे में पता चल जाता तो शायद वे बच जाते।

मैं एमबीबीएस के बाद ऑन्कोलॉजिस्ट बनना चाहता हूं और गांवों में जागरूकता शिविर करूंगा ताकि लोग कैंसर जैसी बीमारियों के बारे में जागरूक रहें। चिकित्सा के अलावा सोहम की एग्रीकल्चर में भी रूचि है।

He sold his buffalo for about 65 thousand rupees to facilitate coaching to his son and got Soham admitted in ALLEN Indore. Allen also gave concession in fees considering the condition of the family. Soham took admission in ALLEN Indore in the year 2022 and cracked NEET UG 2023 in the first attempt. Soham’s house is just 100 kms away from Indore but due to his studies, he went home only twice in a year.

Father’s Dream To Become A Doctor

Soham is a resident of Atwas village in Setwas tehsil of Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh. Soham’s father Devisingh Gurjar had a dream from the beginning that he wanted to make Soham a doctor. Despite the humble financial condition,

he made every possible effort to teach Soham. He told Soham only after the 8th standard that ‘ if you want to become a doctor. Don’t worry about money, you just study and become a doctor.Don’t be afraid of failures. If you work hard from your heart, then one day you will definitely make my name famous by becoming a doctor.

Father Devisingh is a graduate while mother Anita Gurjar has studied till 11th standard. There are also three sisters elder to Soham, who are married but they are still studying at their in-laws’ house. The eldest sister is a graduate. The sister younger to the eldest sister is preparing for B.Ed Vyapam. While younger sister of Soham has recently completed B.Ed.

Smart In Studies

Soham has been smart in studies right from the beginning. He has studied till 10th class from the private school of the village. After this, he studied in the 11th and 12th standard from the government school of the village itself.

He passed class 10th in the year 2020 with 97.33 percent marks. After this, in the year 2022, he passed 12th class with 88 percent marks. He wanted to become a doctor but did not know what to do for it. His maternal uncle and aunt informed him and advised him to take admission in ALLEN Indore for NEET preparation.

Uncle’s Illness Changed His Mind

Soham’s uncle has passed away due to cancer. Soham pointed out that the awareness about such diseases is low in the villages and by the time a person comes to know about the disease, it is too late. I have seen the pain of uncle’s illness very closely.

If he had come to know about the disease in time, he might have been saved. I want to become an oncologist after MBBS and will do awareness camps in villages so that people are aware about diseases like cancer. Apart from medicine, Soham is also interested in agriculture.

The hard work of Soham and his father is commendable. Circumstances can be changed only by moving forward with a goal with a determination. These children set an example for the society. It is our endeavour that no obstacle should come in their way.
