Rented two rooms in the same house, family lived in one room and Yuvraj in another for studies
Secured AIR 334 in JEE Mains
Monday was a joyous day for the family of Kaan Singh Shekhawat, a Dadabari resident of Career City Kota, as the family’s son Yuvraj Singh Shekhawat struggled against the family’s adverse circumstances to secure AIR 476 in JEE Advanced, considered the country’s toughest engineering entrance exam. Yuvraj has been a student of ALLEN Career Institute, Kota, for the last two years. Yuvraj’s father Kaan Singh Shekhawat is a security guard at the Central Bank of India. The family is originally from Jaipur but Kaan Singh has been living in Kota for the last 9 years due to his job and children’s education. Yuvraj’s elder sister Lakshmi is pursuing B-Tech from Rajasthan Technical University. Yuvraj passed class 10th with 88.6 percent and class 12th with 94.6 percent marks. Apart from this, he is also NSEJS, RMO, INAO Junior, NSEP and NSEA qualified.
Stayed in Hostel
Yuvraj told that he took admission in ALLEN Career Institute in the year 2018 to fulfill his dream of becoming an IITian. That time he was in the 11th grade. On qualifying the OCSC in 10th standard, ALLEN Career Institute gave a concession of 90 percent in the first year and 50 percent in the second-year fee. Area around the house was pretty noisy and there was no suitable environment for studies. In view of his performance and request, ALLEN Institute gave him the facility to stay in Sammunnat in Jawahar Nagar. Living and eating was completely free. Living there proved very beneficial for him. Group study helped a lot in doubt solving. The atmosphere of the hostel was such that everyone tried to give their best and got inspired by each other’s performance.
A Rented Room within a Rented House
Yuvraj said that most of the students living in hostels had gone to their homes during the lockdown. This resulted in feeling a little lonely. On the other hand, he was a bit nervous in the beginning as the exam moved forward, but ALLEN’s faculty motivated and advised to take advantage of this extra time. He then returned to his home from the hostel. His family stays in a rented place in Kota. JEE preparation required a calm environment. So, seeing his preparation, his father rented a room on the third floor in the same house only for him where he spent the six months of lockdown preparing for JEE Advanced.
Provided Education by Cutting Expenses
Yuvraj’s father Kaan Singh told that he is a class IV employee. Therefore, he doesn’t get much salary. As he also had to pay the house rent, he cut down his own expenses to provide the right education to his son. He made sure to cater to his son’s need in any which way possible. He even borrowed money from people. But he states that during all this hardship, ALLEN greatly supported him.
