The Country is Celebrating National Start-Up Day Today
On National Start-up Day today, we bring to you a tale of Alok Kumar, a 23-year-old alumnus of Allen Career Institute 2014 batch and now an entrepreneur, who, although could not crack IIT-JEE, successfully embarked on the path of his start-up. He is running a company with a Team Size of 150 + Employees and has completed 3 investment rounds and is currently preparing for Series A (30 Million Dollars) investment.
Alok Kumar is an inspiration for thousands of youth across India, and his Ed-Tech venture, StockDaddy & The Jr. Investor, is making huge waves in India’s financial landscape.
With the single vision to make India financially literate along with building a single platform for all financial needs, Alok Kumar has built his start-up company StockDaddy. His start-up StockDaddy is solving one of the biggest problems of the country, i.e. Financial literacy. More specifically, Alok’s start-up brings Stock Markets closer to every household in this country, because he understands that in order to make our Economy stronger, there is a need for an increased backing of retail investors. With only 5% of the population investing in Stock Markets, there is a vast opportunity of capturing 95% of the country, i.e. people who do not invest in Stock markets. He said that our aim is to teach and train the common man, the nitty gritty of Stock trading, making them prudent investors who are ready for a brighter tomorrow. Within a few months of our App launch, we have crossed the milestone of 100K downloads, and changed the lives of 33k Indians, he said. Alok said that we are increasing our reach with each passing day.
When asked what he learned as an Allen alumnus, Alok said that he studied for 3 years in Kota till 2017 when he got great motivation from the Allen faculties. Kota has taught him the grit for success, which also helped him start his start-up. “It is due to Kota that I learned not to give up attitude in life and take every challenge in our stride”, he said. When I could not crack IIT-JEE, I did not drop my shoulders. I recollected myself and walked on a new path of success by starting a new start-up.
